Spring and Some Other Stuff

April 20, 2013

I love spring. Nuff said.
Well maybe not, I love winter, too &
summer and fall. I like seasons that’s why I’m chilling in the big OH-IO. haha.
But, Spring. Being able to see trees
turning green, flowers blooming, and butterflies growing this time of year is
my favorite.
Butterflies. Oh yes. I bet you were all
on the edge of your seats wondering how well my class’ caterpillars have
faired, I mean after all, one did get thrown.
Well I am happy to report that they did
not get thrown this week. Score. That’s a win in my book people, deal.
& I’m pretty sure they are still
alive. Well, I mean the did decide to turn upside down and make a cocoon, so
it’s not like they are moving much anymore, but I’m pretty sure they are still
alive. Only time will tell.
Well, I have some pictures of their
transformation.

I wish I could share with you the
reactions that I received from my student’s when they saw what was happening. It
was priceless. They were all very excited.
So excited in fact, I have kids, begging
me, I repeat, begging me to stay in the class and not go to the inclusion
times. I tell them we will wait until they get back to talk about anything and
that is the only way that they are able leave the room.
Never thought these lessons would be such
a hit.

Since this is Autism Awareness month, I
made a reader and a lesson plan companion for general education teachers.
You can find it here. Yes. It’s Free.
You may have already heard about it. I’m
not sure. I’ve gotten a good response so far. I have to give a shout out to The 3am Teacher, Michelle. I contacted her a week or so ago and asked her if she
was able to make some Autism Awareness Clip Art. She graciously accepted my
request and a week later, voila. She posted A HUGE 4 Piece Set. It’s pretty
amazing. So if you are looking for anyone to make you clip art, check her out.
She is a sweetheart to boot!
Also, I was excited this week as I was a
first time guest blogger!
WooHoo!
It was so exciting Check it out HERE>
And A big shout out to Christine Reeves
from Autism Classroom News for actually letting me do it.
Here’s a funny for you.
A few weeks ago we got out class pictures
taken and our Spring pictures taken along with them. Well Yesterday these
beauties show up in my school mailbox.
EEeek! What am I supposed to do with
these babies?
There’s like 32 of them or something. I
plan to file them in a box in my basement somewhere I think, Although my sister
is wanting one so she can use it as blackmail at a later point I’m sure.
Well, I hope you are having a good week. Or
Weekend.
Let the count down begin.
28 Days Left. =
